WHAT DOES DC STAND FOR IN TIKTOK?

  • The letters ‘DC’ in a TikTok caption means that the TikTok user is giving ‘dance credits’ to the original creator of a viral dance or challenge. The original creator’s username will usually be tagged next to ‘DC’.

Many TikTok users are begging celebrities and popular TikTok influencers to credit those who originally created their dances. Many Tiktok watchers feel like influencers are taking credit from the people who have originally created the dances and this is unfair.

‘DC’ is important to help the originators receive credit and give them a platform to grow their account and be acknowledged. This is also a way to continue the dance challenge and gain the dance more recognition.https://www.tiktok.com/embed/v2/6945159009146014981#amp=1
